Kathi interviews Dr. Jen Bennett, author of Be Worth Following: How to Be Different and Influence People In a Crowded Social World about how people have lost their etiquette on social media.
“Social media got noisy,” says Dr. Bennett. “We’re seeing a lot of people selling on social media. No one is ever doing shout outs or going to other people and celebrating them. I think we’ve lost the social in social media because we’ve become so obsessed with what God’s called us to do. That’s okay but we need to have boundaries and balance.”
Kathi poses the question, “How do we connect and encourage while running a business?” This episode is great one for everyone who wants to know more about how to have an authentic presence in the social media world.

this was also terrific. and yes, guilty on all counts. funny how i think of my speaking and writing as serving (hopefully, like Jesus) and can cross over the lines of self-seeking so easily on social media. thanks for this great topic and i applaud your stance- so enouraging and am sharing.

Thanks so much for these great boundaries! This helped me realize that most people go onto Social media to interact not just to scroll through photos of perfect lives. One friend who was grieving said she stayed away from Facebook because it made her too sad to see everyone’s perfect happy lives.
We need to be genuine and share the good and the bad.
Thanks again for your great education. You always pick relevant topics!
