Today Kathi and Michele discuss the world of DIY publishing.

Kathi and Michele are joined today by Michele’s friend, author Sarah Beckman. Sarah will share how she went from having a dream to making it move forward.  Every step is so important.  From writing schedule, combatting frustrations, and staying in your own lane,  Sarah shares her journey to publishing.

Hear about the challenges in publishing from Sarah’s experience. The challenge is believing what everyone says, according to Sarah.  It is hard to believe, but a key part to any journey.  Tune in next week for Part 2 with Sarah Beckman!

In today’s episode, you will know:

  • The importance of following your own plan not someone else’s.
  • Knowing your objective is key to your publishing journey.
  • The difference between hybrid, traditional, and self publishing.

Sarah Beckman

Sarah Beckman

Speaker and Author

Sarah Beckman inspires people from the stage and on the page. A national speaker and bestselling author of Alongside: A Practical Guide for Loving your Neighbor in their Time of Trial, she’s passionate about helping people navigate the rough patches of
life. Her own health and personal trials coupled with her experience walking alongside those facing all manner of trials, provide her authentic, compelling viewpoint for her books.

In the introduction to her newest book, Hope in the Hard Places, Sarah begins with this: “I’ve lived through my own dark places. And I’ve been privy to more tragic stories than I can ever recount to you.” She brings immediate hope to the reader, letting them know they are not alone and that no one is immune to struggle or adversity. In her books and her speaking, Beckman gets personal as she weaves her own stories reminding readers and listeners that we need someone to walk with us, to point us to truth, and to remind us of God’s goodness.

Her TV appearances include The 700 Club, The Difference, and 100 Huntley Street, and she has recorded over fifty local and national radio programs and podcasts.
