Kathi Lipp is back with husband, Roger Lipp, for the fourth and final episode in this series about Profit First. In this episode, the couple explains the roles of the people they rely on to help them with their finances. Creatives are typically not in a traditional situation where they receive a regular paycheck from the same place every week or month. Often your income might be from several places like speaking engagements or book sales, and it’s important to have people on your team who understand how to manage those different sources. A bookkeeper and a CPA will make sure things are handled that may not be in your wheelhouse including:
- Keeping up with business-related purchases
- Ensuring contractors are paid fairly and on time
- Taxes (all of them)
If you’re ready to take your creative ministry from the hobby level to career, it’s imperative that you take your finances to the career level as well, and this series makes it not only doable, but easy. Be sure to revisit episodes 1, 2, and 3 if you missed one, or if you need a refresher, and comment when you’ve gotten your accounts set up.
