Mary Snyder

Mary Snyder is an author, speaker and Speaker Relationship Regional Director for Compassion International.

Mary is the author of God, Grace & Girlfriends: Adventures in Faith & Friendship and the author of the bible study, Authentic Girlfriends: Real Women finding Real Faith.

Mary began her writing career as a freelance writer in the early dot com days. She wrote on a wide array of topics from parenting and marriage to gel pens and ceiling fans. She also is the author of many of those little books that were found near the grocery store check out line – How to Make Salsa, How to Fix Common Plumbing Problems and How to Install a Ceiling Fan are just a few of her titles. She’s great at salsa making but don’t ask her about plumbing.

Mary’s other freelance specialty was financial writing – which is a wonder since she struggles with math unless it’s related to shopping and sales. She wrote for a variety of online sites including Charles Schwab Online.

Along with Mary’s writing career, she is a professional speaker who has spoken to groups from very small (less than ten) to thousands and on topics that range from Grasping Grace to Finding Faith in the Tanning Tube. Mary has served as a speaker coach for Proverbs 31 She Speaks Conference and also was on the board of directors for Proverbs 31. She is comfortable on a stage and enjoys sharing her faith with a splash of humor. After all, we all can use a good laugh now and then.

Scott Simmerok

Scott’s greatest privilege is being married to Kelli for 23 years, and parenting their two “not so much kids anymore”: Courtney (20) and Austin (18).

Scott is the Lead Pastor of Church on the Hill in San Jose, one of the oldest churches in California, just celebrating their 169th anniversary. He deeply understands the treadmill of teaching fresh, actionable messages every week by keeping your soul in the right place and maximizing the team approach to message writing. He loves coaching new communicators on how to take important truths and put them on the bottom shelf where everyone can reach them.

• Over his twenty years of pastoring, he’s figured out how to speak to the diverse audiences in front of him; which includes:

• keeping middle school students engaged in a week-long camp

• encouraging the hearts of pastors at a retreat

• engaging the City Council in a five minute address

• teaching a multi-generational, multi-cultural congregation for life transformation

Recently, Scott has begun coaching pastors and marketplace leaders on how to understand their own souls and sort through their strategic next steps. This new venture is being driven by his desire to call out the best in people regardless of their church involvement or professional platform.

She and is currently completing her first non-fiction book, The Empathy Project.
